If you have taken
the Calculus Placement tests and we have recommended that you consider some
review before the school year starts, this is the place to be! We want to make sure that you get off to a good
start in your math courses, so we have compiled review modules that will help
refresh your math skills and help you succeed in your math courses. Each module has two parts – background material about the
subject and practice problems in WeBWorK you can use for review. Like the Calculus Placement tests, you can
work through these modules at your own pace, and you can go through as many
modules as you would like.
For a review of pre-calculus material, visit Pre-Calculus
Review. There are four sets of WeBWorK problems that
you can use for review:
Which Modules Are
Right For Me?
When you completed
the Calculus Placement tests, you received a recommendation that pointed out
some areas in which you should consider some review. You can start in these areas, but you are welcome to choose any module to
review any subject. The following is
a guide highlighting the modules most relevant to your particular math course:
·
Calculus
1 (MA1021 or MA1020) – If you are starting in Calc 1, then you should
make sure your skills in pre-calculus are strong. The Pre-Calculus Modules will
help. If you are taking MA1020, these
same modules will help you improve your skills in pre-calculus as well to help
you prepare for the school year.
·
Calculus
2 (MA1022) – If you are starting in Calc 2, you should
have a good knowledge of pre-calculus and differentiation skills. Jumpstart
Calc 1 will help you review basic differentiation. The Pre-Calculus
Modules will
help you review pre-calculus.
·
Calculus
3 (MA1023) – If you are starting in Calc 3, you should be
comfortable with everything ranging from algebra to integration. All of
the Jumpstart modules would help you review this material.
