Other Required Materials:

 

1.       Statement of Purpose.  Submit a Statement of Purpose, not to exceed 500 words, which addresses at least 1) Why you want to teach school in a high-need district, 2) Why you think you might be a good teacher, and 3) why have you applied for the WPI NSF Noyce Teacher Scholarship.  Also, provide a brief calendar of when you expect to complete the various components of the WPI Teacher Preparation Program. Note: Clear and persuasive writing is just that—the reader understands you and is convinced as well.

 

  1. Two Letters of Recommendation.  Submit two letters of recommendation.  Please ask your recommenders to comment on both your academic interests and abilities and on your personality (e.g. maturity, energy, patience, common sense, humor, creativity), particularly as these relate to the work of a schoolteacher.

  

3.      A Transcript.  Submit an official WPI transcript.  Note: Eligible candidates must show a GPA of at least 3.2.

 

  1. A Resumé.  Submit a resumé that lists your educational history, employment history, extracurricular activities, and honors and awards.
