International Student ID Cards
We recommend you get the
International Student ID Card, from the ISTC. This card will
provide you with discounts and insurance while
we travel in Ireland. The card costs $22. To get a card, WPI students must
bring two passport-sized photos and a check for $22 to the IGSD
office at WPI. You may get photos taken on the WPI campus at Office
Services in the basement of Boynton Hall. For more information, contact Chad Pytel.
The tour shirt is long-sleeved, forest green with brown lettering, and costs about $11. If you would like one, please email Ken Gagne with your name, school affiliation, and size desired ASAP. Preliminary designs of the shirt are available here. The script on the shirt back is Gaelic for "The Two Thousand and One WPI and Clark Chorale Tour of Ireland".
Spending is very subjective, but if you allowed $10 per meal (breakfast is always provided, and dinners on concert days are provided), you would have a rough guide. Souvenirs, cards, stamps, etc. are other expenditures, and that depends on the person. I would guess that if someone planned to budget $300 for spending for the week, that would easily cover lunches, a pint or two, and some souvenirs...
Outlets in Ireland are like the outlets in England. Large, 3 prong monsters. Voltage is 220. Most hotels will have 220/110 shaver outlets in the bathrooms.
