Science and Technical Writing
STW stands for science and Technical Writing. In this class, we learn how to correctly write
scientific papers such as reports, methodologies, and scientific essays. We also focus on
mechanics and citations, and use Diana Hacker's "Rules for Writers" as a reference text. Below
are two links that contain examples of my work from this class. The first is an essay about
Hemophilia, a genetic blood disorder, while the second is a methodology for toasting a bagel.
It was surprising how specifically this had to be written, even though I was describing a
simple task. The link below that is my final project for STW, a childrens book about medieval
trade. The book proposal is also the bottom link seen below. The quote reflection link is
an STW paper I wrote on a quote by a famous scientist, reflecting on my stream research.
