KSA annual fall picnic with the Chinese Student Association at Hopkinton State Park. Everyone will meet at the Wedge. It will be on Sunday, September 24 from 10:30AM - 2:00PMish. If you wants to go, you will need to RSVP ASAP to alexlee@wpi.edu Transportation is limited, so reserve your space now.

Next Thursday, 09/21/2006, at 6 PM in the Mid-Century Room (Same Place) we will have our second GBM. It will be a short meeting so please show up on time. Also, please bring $5 for the members due.This is an annual due, so you just have to pay once this school year. This membership fee will be good toward free attendance to future events such as the HotPot and Dragon Night. Also in order to be consider for theattendance reward at the end of the year, you have to be a member. This is just to name a few benefits of being a member of CSA. This friday at OASIS, Sept 8 2006, from 6pm-10pm. Bring games, video consoles and/or
games. You wanna study, we'll distract you. Bring mahjong sets, but most
importantly BRING yourself. We got texas hold'em going on. We got movies
to show. Too many movies to list out. There will be snacks and
non-alcoholic drinks. C'mon and have some fun and get to meet some old and
new friends. Lastly, there maybe a surprise after 10pm. Any suggestions

Nomination for new officers of next school year have now begun! Don't
hesitate to nominate anyone (or yourself) for any of the following
positions: *President *Vice President *Treasurer *Ambassador * Public
Relation *Sport Coordinator *Web Master.
Nomination will end on March 22th (Wednesday) by noon, and election
will be held on our coming General Body Meeting. So start sending you

One of our members will play her traditional chinese
instrument (rehearsal) at 6:00pm at Riley Common today. Just wonder if
any of you guys will be availalbe at 5:45pm and willing to give her a
ride from founders hall. Since her instrument is considerably heavy, we
cant carry by hand even in a walking distance from founders to Riley.

ISC's annual Cultural Festival is coming up!! It will be on
Saturday, February 18th between 1pm and 4pm in Alden Hall. This is an
event open to the entire Worcester community in which students from
all over the world perform, display/sample foods, clothing, pictures
and anything else that bring pride to our resepcties countries. CSA
will have two tables set up for display. Food and snacks will be
provided.
Anyone who has something to display, such as chinese tradition
paintings, decorative stuff? Please email CSA back ASAP!! If you are
willing to help out during the fest, please drop by!! For those of
you went to culture festival last year, we were all suprised to see
how an Indian girl use a special tool to draw something on your
hand. There are much more stuff. Come...Explore...Enjoy....!!

Carmen Van Kerckhove from New Demographic is holding a workshop
called "Never The Twain Shall Meet: Interracial Relationships On the
Big Screen" in the Hagglund Room. Last year, Carmen and her
colleague Jen Chau gave a talk about Interracial Relationships, and
this workshop promises to be very interesting again! If you are
available, please drop by and check out the details.

CSSA (the graduate chinese students) are holding a "New Year
Celebration" Party this coming sunday at Odeum(CC upstairs) from
5:00pm. Free food, fun game and open karaoke for eveveryone. I
encourage most of you guys to go and sign up for the karaoke. At
least 5 people from csa are required to participate in the karaoke
stuff.

How is your new term in 2006? Hope you guys have fun at the beginning
of the term. We are going to have our third General Body Meeting on
Wednesday. This would be a good time for every member to share ideas
and have disscussions like the following events such as ice skating
trip, dragon nite etc. We definitely need your inputs to make the
orgabization better.

CSA will be hosting ISC's Midnight Breakfast tomorrow. We will be
ordering food from Super Chinese Buffet to snack on (ex: wontons, fried
rice, sweet & sour chicken) and it will be totally free.

Hot Pot Party is coming up this Friday at Founders Kitchen from 5:30pm-8pm. It is a delcious and hearty way to eat food that instantly warms your bodies under the chilly temperatures while frigid winds prevailing over wpi campus. Come to join us at hot pot dinner and meet your fellow members from csa as well. You can sign up either at campus center(the table sitting session) from Wednesday to Friday this week or email CSA. For those members who paid their dues already, itz free. For those who didnt pay the members dues, it's $3, which is the fee open to the public on campus. We may play some music while eating, bring some of your cds.

CSA will set up a table sitting to sell candy for foundraise next week from Monday to Friday(9:00am-4:00pm each day) at CC. We will also advertise our upcoming club events such as hotpot and mandarin/cantonese workshop while table sitting at Campus Center. All the money attained from the fouondraise will go into our biggest annual event called "dragon night" at the begining of Term D.
Volunteer needed!! If you are available any time next week after classes, drop by the candy sales table at campus center next week to sign up the available slots. PLZ Come to help around... ohoh, dont forget to pay the membes dues to our treasure Irene, otherwise you wont get free to any of our club events for the rest of year.

Reminders for the events this week:
1. Mandarin/Cantonese Speech Workshop tonite from 7pm-8pm at Taylor Room. If you are willing to learn any of these two languages, please do show up and learn some basic simple words.
2. A couple of our fellow members from CSA are going to cook Chinese food at International House, come join us for lunch tomorrow(Wednesday) at 11:30am-1pm. It is FREE. If any of you are interested in cooking as well, please come to help out at 10am.Thank you!!
3. General Boday Meeting on Wednesday(11/2/05), 5pm-6pm at the Taylor Room. Free Pizza!!!

The 2nd General Body Meeting is this coming wednesday from 5:00pm-6pm at Taylor Room(CC downstairs). It is strongly encouraged everyone to attend. Atttendances at every single GBM and club activities are important regarding you are a csa member or not. This meeting will discuss about the upcoming event hot pot(11/11/05) and our foundrasing events. More information about club activities will be mentioned at the meeting as well as dragon night and suggestion to the club. See you there at 5pm sharp. Ohoh, dont forget to bring $2 members dues!!!
Mandarin/cantonese learning workshop is tuesday night from 7:00pm-8:00pm at Taylor Room, if you are interested in learning any of these two languages, come join us and dont forget to bring your friends as

CSA is going to organize mandarine speech workshop every tuesday night from 7:00pm-8:00pm during Term B(starts from next tuesday). If any of you or your friends are interested in learning how to speak mandarin step by step and willing to pay $1 per hour for the workshop, please email me back at yama@wpi.edu or aim me (itz M1n 520).

Here are some details about the 1st workshop regarding Chinese characters tomorrow at Taylor Room from 1:00pm-3:00pm. First, we will discuss rules for writing Chinese characters and we will try to write some Chinsese characters right away stroke by stroke, step by step. The character will be simple and everyone will be able to handle it. Next, characters from Chinese Zodiac. You can figure out and learn how to write your own zodiac according to the year you were born. Want to know more, more details??? Then show up ^_^! Dont forget to bring $2 fee oh.

CSA is planing to organize a dinner gather for new members and old fellow members on 08/31/05 Wednesday at the wedge(outside the morgan dinning hall) at 5:45pm.
