Science and Technical Writing is not at all like an English class. The type of writing we do is a lot different, we have learned to write in a professional, scientific manner. A challenging assignment we had was writing about nature in a not artsy manner. Our task was to avoid using flowing and poetic words. As practice for writing the methodologies for our research projects we wrote the methodology for toasting a bagel and spreading cream cheese on it. While this task may seem pointless it was actually alot of fun and extremely helpful for when we had to write our research methodologies. We also learned how to write expository essays, personally I thought it was one of the most fun assingments of the year. My two essays were on gigantism and cord blood research. Also we submitted one of our two essays into the a writing competition. Another assignment we submitted were the argumentative essay writen to the Nobel Prize commity. The topic was whether or not Percy Julian, a famous chemist, should recieve a nobel prize even though he has long since passed away.
