Español

Spanish is one of the most fun and relaxing classes of the day. In class we speak only in Spanish, never in English. Our curriculum is very broad, we watch episodes of a beginner Spanish series called Destinos, read books, and play games. A few months ago we researched famous Spanish artists and learned about their paintings. We chose a painting and then did a short presentation about the piece of art. We also occasionally record ourselves talking in Spanish, which sounds really weird. In class we watched a movie called Viva Cuba, which taught us about the culture of the country. We did background research on the relations between the United States and Cuba. One of the best parts about our Spanish class is that we learn about the real world, not just conjugating verbs. We learn how to say things in Spanish that could actaully be helpful, like how to give directions.
