ROAD ROUTES

• Reservoir-Route/Luddy
  • Probably our most commonly traveled route, the "res-route" is a very decent ~15 mile route with minimal Δ in elevation (869 feet); it has become a decidedly Time Trialed (TT) route.
  • One sprint exists at about the half way point, marked by a white "BS" (Bridge Sprint) on the road, and ending at the second bridge (should be an orange line).
  • [Luddy is because even though Chris and Paul have lived here their whole lives, they never remember the name of the road...but Luddy Chevrolet is at the beginning of it, so! Also Luddy is specified because there are two alternate return paths from Main St in Holden - Salisbury St (slightly shorter) and Chapel St (slightly longer)]
  • Average Time: 55 minutes. Current PR's/records Three-man: ~38 minutes (from past, route Δ'd?) Individual: 41min 38 sec/avg 21.6 (Paul 9/18/07) [If you want me to post your PR, tell me, I'm going to set up a PR 11:41 PM 9/19/2007table!]

• 'Round The 'port
  • A lot of bang for you buck - a short (18mi) ride with a reasonable bit of elevation gain to it (1500ft). Commonly used to train for hills/intervals. Starts by following Res-Route Leadout
  • There are some enjoyable views along this route, as well as a quality descent. If you love planes, three great vantages come along as you go around - too bad it's mostly small planes these days...Friday between 1400 and 1600 a blackhawk often lands dropping off a military officer, though.
  • Average Time: 1 hour 15 minutes. Fastest times run at about an hour

• Pax' Route
  • ~31 miles; 2000ft ascent; One of Paul's favorites, if not just because of the two fun downhills. Follow Res route out 6.4 miles to South Rd, Come back either reverse Res Route (where Bailey Rd meets 122a), take Salisbury St, or join back onto end of Res-Route/Luddy
  • A good bit of scenery (and history, if you can follow a ride with Paul) for a ~31 mile ride
  • Average Time: Just under 2 hours. Fastest times run at about an hour and a half
