About me
I am Si Chen, presently a PhD candidate at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) located in Worcester, Massachusetts. Since September 2007, I have been studying and working in the Wireless Innovation Lab (WILab) at WPI directed by Professor Alexander M. Wyglinski. After getting my Master's degree in the end of 2009, I continued with the pursuit of my PhD degree in WILab.
During my time pursuing a Master's degree, I worked on the design and optimization of a genetic algorithms based cognitive radio that can adapt to the perceived wireless environment given some objectives such as maximizing throughput and avoiding interference signals.
Since the beginning of 2010, I have been working in a collaboration with Dr. Onur Altintas and Rama Vuyyuru from TOYOTA InfoTechnolgy Center. On finishing a feasibility study of dynamic spectrum access for vehicular communication, we started a project on designing the architecture of an intelligent vehicular communication system that incorporate artificial intelligence on a futuristic vehicle.
Meanwhile, I have been in regular discussion with Prof. Sudharman K. Jayaweera from University of New Mexico and Dr. Chittabrata Ghosh on subjects of game theory, intra-group cooperation among cognitive users, and spectrum sharing paradigms.
