ompetition preparation will begin in late September, after the team has been chosen. Consideration for this team is based on both talent and level of commitment. It has not yet been determined exactly which competition(s) we will take part in this year.

Last year was the first year the WPI cheerleading team entered a competition. We competed in the COA Open Nationals and won the college division. It was a great opportunity for team growth, and we are looking forward to furthering that growth this year.

If you like lots of dancing or lots of tumbling, and even more cheering and stunting, and you don't mind the hard work in striving for greatness, then you should stop by.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.

Competition Tips:
Crowd Effectiveness -
Maintain good eye-contact, and bright & cheerful facial expressions

Fundamentals -
Maintain both sharply snapped & correctly placed motions.

Technical Ability -
Use both jumps (individual & team) and tumbling to demonstrate, but only those with pristine execution.

Dance Technique -
Maintain tight formations, accurate timing & execution, as well as lively and intricate choreography.

Originality -
Using pieces from other routines is ok, but dont rip off an entire routine, dance, music, kit-n-kaboodle.
