Research Sem with Mr. Wood and Mr. Ellis is very interesting. We spent a little more than the first two terms making a science or engineering project for the Massachusetts Science fair in May. During this class we spend most of our time learning how to conduct a great and original project that is able to impress almost anyone.
My project was an engineering project where I will made a catalyst out of tin oxide to decompose nitrous oxide emitted from normal cars. This required the use of testing facilities at the WPI Firelab in order to test it in a hot 700+ degree exhaust pipe. I succesfully was able to create a durable and effective catalyst, which proved to decompose all of the nitrous oxide in the system. I enjoyed this project very much and would love to extend it any way I could if I am given the choice.
HERE is my final paper that we had to write after we completed our project for the Science Fair.
