Patent Information

As students are required to create a new and patentable devise one obvious step in this process is patent searching. Listed below are several sites for patent searches.

United States Patent and Trademark Office WWW Server
U.S. Patent Bibliographic Database
AIDS Patent Database.
STO's Internet Patent Search System
IBM Patent Server includes descriptions of U.S patents back to 1971 and images back to 1974.

Students also search other sources for information of existing technologies. A major source is The Thomas Registers which is also available in print as well as CD. You my be able to get a copy for your classroom from a local bussiness or library. Even last years is a great resource!
