WPI To Host 2004 ASME Regional Student Conference

Our student section will host the 2004 Regional Student Conference in April 2004.  This event is still more than a year away, but we are already beginning to plan for it.  We expect ME students from all over the Northeast to visit WPI for the conference.  Visit The Region 1 Student Section Committee for more information.

Activities for '02-'03

Columbia Tech Factory tour

At the beginning of December, 2002 we are going to have a factory tour of Columbia Tech, which is only a few blocks away from campus.  Details are still being worked out, so check back for updates and visit Columbia Tech's website for information.

Wyman Gordon Tour

Wyman Gordon has invited us to visit their factory sometime during C term.  Details to follow.

Lego Nights

We occasionally host "Lego Nights" for all members of campus.  These are social events where students can come enjoy free food and play with the ME department's Lego Mindstorms Robotics kits, which are a lot of fun.  We even have laptop computers so you can program your creations.   Click here for pictures of one our Lego Nights



Notable Past Activities

Pratt and Whitney Factory tour

On Wed, April 3, 2002, ASME hosted a trip to Pratt and Whitney's facility in Middletown, CT for a tour.  We toured the assembly building where commercial, military, and industrial jet engines are put together as well as the testing facility where completed engines are tested.  For group photos of the event, click  here
