Gilman International Scholarship
The Benjamin
Gilman International Scholarship program offers grants for United States
citzens who are currently undergraduate students pursuing academic study
abroad. International study is encouraged to better prepare United States
students as they begin to take on significant roles in the global
community. Applicants must be Pell grant recipients.
Award recipients are chosen by a competitive selection
process and can use the award to help defray their travel abroad expenses.
These expenses include tuition, room and board, books, transportation and
international airfare.
More than 1,700 awards of up to $5000 will be
awarded for the academic year for United States undergraduate citizens to
study abroad. The awards vary depending upon the length of study and
student need.
Eligibility
The applicant must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant at the time of
application or during their term abroad.
The applicant is applying or has been accepted into a study abroad
program by the student's accredited college or university in the U.S.
The applicant will be studying abroad for a minimum of four weeks in
one country.
The applicant will be studying in the fall, spring, or academic year
terms. Summer programs are not eligible.
The applicant must be a United States citizen.
The applicant must be enrolled as an undergraduate student at a two or
four-year U.S. college or University.

New England Water
Environment Association
Scholarship
The New England Water Environment Associaton Scholarship will be awarded
to one undergraduate student and to one graduate student. The awards are
based on understanding of issues, written communication ability,
demonstrated interest and activites in environmental protection and
academic performance. The New England Water Environment Association
Scholarship is meant to encourage and provide incentive for capable and
motivated students to contine their studies in the advancement of their
water environment protection skills, and to enhance and promote the
quality of ther performance as environmental professionals.
Undergraduate applicants must be enrolled full time in a program leading
to a bachelor's degree in the field of civil/environmental engineering or
related sciences. Students in a bechelor's degree program must be
entering at least their second year of full-time college studies.
Graduate applicants may be enrolled on either a full-time or part-time
basis in a program leading to a master's degree, or a doctoral degree in
the field of civil/environmental engineering or related sciences.
The applicants program of study must be at a college or university in one
of the six New England states or the individual must be a resident of one
of the New England states.
The applicant must be an active or student member of NEWEA or an
affiliate member of one of the six New England state operator
associations.

Simpson Gumpertz & Heger
Scholarship in association with the Boston Society of Civil Engineers
Section/American Society established this scholarship to encourage
undergraduate college students who strive for excellences, who desire
a career in civil engineering and who are members of an ASCE student chapter in MA. SGH supports

civil engineering profession and desires to encourage gifted students in the pursuit of
their careers.
Application Requirements
Applicants must have complege two and a half years of a four year program.
Applicants must submit a one page letter of introcution and summarize
their qualifications.
Applicants must submit a resume that demonstrates the applicant's
academic record, professional employment,professional activities,
memberships, participation in professional organizations and personal
items of interest.
A one-page essay that demonstrates the applicant's writing ability and

New Hampshire Charitable
Foundation Scholarships
Each year the New
Hampshire
Charitable Foundation distributes for than $3 million to students
pursuing higher education in the forms or grant aid and loans. New
Hampshire Charitable Foundation administers more than 350 separate
funds-established by individuals, families, organizations and
businesses-to provide scholarships to help deserving students realize
their dream of higher education. Qualified students who meand eligibility
criteria for the various programs may apply. Most scholarships available
are for New Hampshire residents, although a few are open to residents of
Vermont and Maine students who live on border towns.
This is a competitive program. Awards range from $500 to $3,500.Some
scholarships are renewable.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicant must be legal resident of New Hampshire.
Applicant must be between the ages of 17 and 23.
Applicant must be enrolled in a four-year baccalaureate degree
program.
Applicant must be enrolled full time or half time.
Applicants are required to submit a copy of the FAFSA Student Aid
Report(SAR).

American Society of Civil Engineers-NH Section
In November ot 2000, the NH section of ASCE created a scholarship to aid a NH high school student in their pursuit of an engineering education. It is the hope
of NH-ASCE to increase the awareness of the civil engineering profession. Four scholarships are awarded each year.
Eligivility Requirements
-The applicant must be a resident of the state of NH.
-The applicant must be a current senior in a NH high school.
-The applicant must hae applied and been accepted by a four-year engineering program.
-The applicant must submit a NH-ASCE high school scholarship form, their high school transcript, a letter of reference from a teacher or a registered civil
engineering.
The letter of reference should be in a sealed envelope with thhe name and signature of the reference on the outside of the envelope, and a
two
page essay on the NH-ASCE scholarship topic.
Bill Raskob Foundation,
Inc.
The Bill Raskob Foundation is a small family foundation set up to give
deserving students interest free loans for the undergraduate or graduate
education. The student loans are interest free. The minimum student loan
amount is $1,000 with the average student loan ranging from $3000-$6,000.

Applicant should have a passion for bridges.
Applicant must be a member in good standing in their student chapter ASCE at time of application and award.
Selection is based on the applicant's award justification, stated interest in bridge design and construction, educational plan, academic performance and

aware of dam safety as a career opportunity.
Each year the ASCSO awards undergraduate scholarship of up to $10,000 to U.S. citizens enrolled in accredited programs of civil engineering or related fields
and planning careers in hydraylics, hydrology or geotechnical disciplines, or in other disciplines related to the design, construction and operation of
dams.

James D. Cooper Student Paper Competition
The International Bridge Conference James D. Cooper Student Paper Competition is open to college and university engineering students in the United States and
worldwide.
The winning paper will receive a $1000 Fellowship, complimentary conference registratio, hotel and travel allowances to attend the International Bridge
Conference. Additionally, the winning paper will be considered for inclusion in the published proceedings and for presentation at the conference.
Student competition papers must be submitted no later than March 1. Entries must be submitted in Adobe PDF format and must be accompanied by the entry

NHHEAF-CEO Scholarship
The New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation-College Equals Opportunity (CEO)Scholarship program is a competitive scholarship program for juniors
and seniors. The scholarship award is $5000. Each May, scholarships are awarded to deserving students from NH who demonstrate leadership ability, an
understanding of the need of higher education and financial need.
Eligibility Requirements:
-Applicant must be a NH resident, although they may attend college out of state.
-Applicant must be a college junior or senior by the fall.
-Application must attain a GPA of 2.5 or higher at the time of application.
Application Process:
1. Complete the NHHEAF CEO Scholarship Application.
2. Select applicants will be contacted via e-mail and required to submit a current college transcript and a copy a Student Aid Report from FAFSA.
3. Finalists will be invited to interview with the business leaders from the CEO program.
4. Following the interview, successful applicants will be identified as recipients of the CEO Leadership Scholarship and invited to attend a CEO reception in
late spring.
