Home of world music at WPI

Surely you’re familiar with the excellent music program at WPI. Jazz or classical, vocal or instrumental, it’s a program that would be the envy of many tech schools. (What? Tech schools aren’t known for their arts programs?) But what if you want something a little different? Something a little more international? Then APDE is for you.

The WPI African Percussion and Dance Ensemble, or APDE, is a student group dedicated to learning traditional African drumming and dance. Our instructor is Mohamed Kalifa Kamara, of Guinea, West Africa and more recently an instructor at Berklee College of Music in Boston. New members are always welcome! If you'd like more information, or if you'd like to be added to our email list, please drop us a note.
