Hello, my name is Aansh Patel, and I’m a junior at MAMS. I previously attended Grafton High School in Grafton, where I have lived my whole life. Inside of school, my interests are cryptography, electrical engineering, and pure math. Outside of school, I spend my time running for my sending school, reading comic books, and trying to cook.
I originally started robotics at Grafton High School on their Vex team. Freshaman year I was on the all freshman team, and we went 0-6 (W/L) multiple competitions. However, I was able to learn from the many, many, many mistakes, and as a result my team did way better sophmore year. This culminated in the team being the only team to make it to reigonals that year from our school. Now I'm at MAMS and am on the FRC team 190, and putting my skills to use doing cable management.
When the pandemic started I was faced with a difficult situation, my parents couldn't cook for me, and I was hungry. As a result, I did what most middle schoolers would do and taught myself how to make box mac and cheese, instant ramen, and frozen spring rolls, and lived like a king for a solid year and a half. However, it soon became apparent that it was taking a toll on my health. As a result for the past almost 4 years I've been trying to teach myself to cook healthy foods that still taste good. It's been a long process, going from being a microwave master to a decent cook, but it's been a fun one. For every banger I've made, there's been at least 3 of the same dish that's been rendered borderline inedible. I've even been trying my hand at baking, however it's been going less well. Cooking you an kind of eyeball it and make a decent dish, you eyeball cooking and suddenly your cake is rising to the moon. However, it's been a fun process and I'm glad I did it.
I also doodle a lot. A lot a lot. Doodling has always been a way for me to release. I generally doodle whatever is closest to me, which leads to me being decent at drawing everything but calculators, which I'm amazing at. Other times, I'll draw abstract shapes to practice shading. These activities allow my mind to wander while giving me something to do, and are a great activity.
