COMPUTER SCIENCE

Computer Science is a super fun class. So far we've learned five different types of coding including html and css. The first project we did in CS was a powerpoint on the best computer you could buy with $800.00. We do labs almost every week and always get to work with partners. Most of the time, we do labs in a program called Scheme. The first lab we did in Scheme worked with finding errors, and creating functions.

Anyone who is even remotely interested in computers will love this class.

I can't even begin to describe how much I have learned this year in computer science. At the beginning of the year I could barely understand prefix notation and now I can code a whole game.I really liked CS because it taught me so much about programs that I otherwise would know nothing about. Taking computer science sparked a programming interest in me that I didn't even know I had! I think CS really helped me to learn how to work in a group too. Doing labs with partners all the time helped me to learn how to collaborate, share ideas, and be open minded to the opinions of others. Overall, I think CS was definitely one of my favorite classes for the simple fact that I learned so much about things that I previously had no knowledge of. I think my favorite assignment was the pong lab because it was the first game we made and was really fun to code. My least favorite lab, and also the lab that confused me the most, was the fractal lab. It was soooo confusing and I spent a majority of the time giving blank stares to the computer screen. The lab I am most proud of is the game I made for the final project. It was such an accomplishment to be able to create a game all on my own without any guidance.Although I'd have to say that the most creative electronic piece I made was my website, I also think that the lab we did as an introduction to mouse and key events was also very creative because it had a bunch of different colors. :D

Other assignments from this year:

Favorite lab: The goal of the pong lab
was to create a ping-pong game using what we learned this year in CS.

Lab I am most proud of: I did a final lab in CS that incorporated Scheme and physics. The principles it involved were friction, conservation of momentum, the force of a spring, and vector velocities.

Most creative lab: One of my most creative labs was one I did with a Cartesian plane and the distance formula.

Most confusing and least liked: The lab that I thought was the most confusing was the fractal lab . I didn't really understand the concept of fractals which made it really hard to try to complete a lab making one. It was also the lab I liked the least.
