College is about learning life skills. There are few skills more important than learning to sustain your metabolic processes on a limited budget. There's always free food somewhere on college campuses; the problem is finding it in a timely manner.

The foodtraq mailing list was created to facilitate the transfer of cheap foodstuffs to your digestive system. The list is dedicated to free or cheap food at, or around, WPI. Free food announcements are, of course, preferred, but cheap food is acceptable under most circumstances.

Joining

You can request to be added to the list by sending an email to owner-foodtraq@wpi.edu. You can unsubscribe by mailing the same address and asking to be removed.

Participating

If you find a cache of food on campus, help your fellow man (and woman) by sending an email to the list. In life, sometimes you need to be a scavenger, which is why announcements about left-overs are totally cool. Other times, you have to pretend you belong somewhere you don't, so tips about general body meetings that serve refreshments are fine too. And, sometimes, you just have to fork over some cash, so feel free to announce stuff like IEEE BBQ events.

When announcing the availability of food, please use a brief but descriptive subject that includes the location and nature of the foodstuffs. Give details in the body of the message. Be sure to mention if there's money involved. And, finally, the vegans and vegetarians on the list would appreciate some notes about hippie-friendly foods, when applicable.
