1. All sorority members must adhere to the Unanimous Agreements and the Code of Ethics.
2. From August 1 through the end of Formal Membership Recruitment, Recruitment Councilors as well as Panhel President, Vice President
Recruitment, Judicial Chair, and Vice President Activities should not be publicly affiliated with their sorority (i.e. No identifying insignia,
including sorority membership recruitment functions).
3. No incoming freshmen woman or potential member shall be entertained or present in apartments or resident hall rooms of a sorority member from
August 1 through the end of Formal Membership Recruitment, barring exceptions in rule 4.
4. Meeting with freshmen women related to campus organizations, where only members of that organization are present, are allowed in a residence of a
sorority member, barring sorority houses, if Panhel is notified in advance. These meetings and other extenuating circumstances are subject
to approval by the Panhellenic President. These exceptions do not apply during Formal Membership Recruitment and do not include study groups.
a.Approval for potential members who are family members of initiated sisters to visit said family
members and vise versa need only be approved once by Panhel, and applies from the date approval is granted until the start
of Formal Membership Recruitment. This rule has no exceptions for visiting chapter houses, and all other rules, other than rule 6, apply.
5. No alcohol or drugs shall be provided directly or indirectly by, nor served by a sister in the presence of any potential new member.
6. No sorority member, except RAs, Recruitment Councilors, and Peer Advisors may visit a potential member in her place of residence
during Formal Membership Recruitment.
7. No sorority member will escort a freshmen woman or potential member to any alcoholic event from August 1 through the end of Formal
Membership Recruitment. No sorority member will escort a freshman woman or potential member to any activity (i.e. movie, concert, etc.) on or off
campus during Formal Membership Recruitment.
8. No sorority member may buy anything for a potential member (meal, soft drink, etc.). No potential member may buy anything for a sorority member.
9. No favors ot gifts may be given to women by the fraternity and/or individual members.

Recruitment Guidlines
for potential members
The Panhellenic Council has set up rules for sorority members and potential members to follow during the recruitment process in order to
make the process as easy and stress-free as possible for all women who are interested in recruitment. Below is a list of the guidelines that
potential members will be asked to follow during the recruitment process. If you have any questions about these guidelines then please ask your Recruitment
Counselor or email any one of the Panhellenic officers.
1. All potential members must be regularly matriculated students at WPI and must pass 2/3 unit of classes in order to be eligible for Formal Membership
Recruitment. Freshmen and sophomores enrolled in semester classes must supply a note verifying Satisfactory Progress (SP) in that
class.
2. A potential member shall attend membership recruitment events. In case of illness or other emergencies, the potential member is to notify the
Panhellenic VP Membership Recruitment and/or her Recruitment Counselor. The Panhellenic VP Membership Recruitment and/or Recruitment Counselor will
notify the sororities involved. All potential members must attend two out of three Formal Recruitment Rounds unless excused where they have a maximum of two
absences to be eligible for the Formal Membership Recruitment Preference Parties. Potential members are only eligible to receive bids from chapters
which they have attended the Preference Party.
3. Upper-class women registered for Formal Membership Recruitment will be considered potential members once Formal Membership Recruitment begins.
4. Strict silence is the period which there will be no social contact with the potential member by sorority members, new members, and
alumnae. Strict silence is designated as the time from the end of the last recruitment event until 12:00pm on Bid Day.
5. Withdrawn potential members are not eligible to return to Formal Membership Recruitment or to receive a bid during Formal Membership Recruitment.
6. To withdraw from Formal Membership Recruitment, a potential member must first speak with the Greek Advisor, the Panhellenic President, or the
Panhellenic Vice President of Membership Recruitment.
New Member Recruitment Events
1. All membership recruitment events will be held in places designated by the Panhellenic.
2. All member recruitment entertainment, including, but not limited to rush skits, singing, etc., must be contained within the membership recruitment facility, unless provided by Recruitment Counselor's or Panhellenic.
3. The use of alcohol and/or the participation of men in membership recruitment functions shall be prohibited through the end of bid day.
4. Only the Panhellenic shall provide name tags for the potential members.
5. The chapters may have a table with sorority items such as scrap books, gig books, pictures, memorabilia, and a composite for all the membership recruitment events.
Expenses
1. A Cap Figure for membership recruitment budget for each sorority is to be set by the Membership Recruitment Chairman of each sorority by the last week of D term.
2. A current, factual expense sheet will be distributed to each potential member by each chapter at the second party during Formal Membership Recruitment. These shall list the all fees to be incurred by the rushee during her collegiate membership, and must be approved by the Panhellenic.
Miscellaneous
1. Membership Recruitment rules cannot be changed after the last meeting D-term until 2 weeks after Formal Membership Recruitment, unless by a majority vote by each house and a unanimous vote in the Panhellenic.
2. Chapter total shall be set at 80.
3. Quota shall be set after the last membership recruitment event, not to be changed.
4. All members, including Alumnae and New Members, are responsible for observing membership recruitment rules.
5. Chapters are responsible for removing or covering any material which include reference to, or pictures of the Panhellenic and Recruitment Counselors.
6. Only potential members on a chapter's bid list are invited back to the Preference round of that chapter.
