Anant Garg - Mass Academy of Math and Science

This is the homepage for my math course, "Mathematical Modeling," taught by Mr.Barys. Mr. Barys has a very ... different approach when it comes to teaching. He believes that one learns through their own experiences, not by someone telling them what to do. Consequently, there is a lot of investigative work done in this course. It is very normal for him to question you in class about things that you think are obvious.

We do not use calculators in this course, instead we use a computer application called Mathematica. Mathematica is really picky on syntax and it is a pain to learn at first; however, it is an extremely powerful application. Mathematica can create plots/graphs instantly, simplify complex equations without using decimals in a matter of seconds, and perform various other processees that calculators can not do.

PS: When in doubt, say it's an axiom!
